China, through the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China (MOST) and the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), supported by the China GEO committee.

Each delegate must complete the GEO-VII online registration form. The on-line registration is open from 4 October to 15 October 2010. Delegates should confirm their attendance with their GEO Principal before registering.

A security check is required before proceeding to check-in at the registration desk located in the East lobby of CNCC.

At the registration desk, you will receive a GEO badge with photo which you must wear at all times while in the meeting areas and at all GEO related events.

The registration desk will open at 14:00 p.m. on 2 November, 8:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. on 3 and 4 November, and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on 5 November.

Click here to show content VISA REQUIREMENTS

A prepared visa application form will be faxed to participants by the local organizers after the necessary information provided (please complete and submit the form before 1 October 2010). This form replaces an invitation letter and should be submitted, along with your passport, to your nearest Chinese Embassy/Consulate/Visa Office. Latest entry and health requirements can be obtained from the Embassy of China in your country.

Participants are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements. The Local Organizing Committee has reserved accommodation at following hotels near the meeting venue (see List of hotels), with special rates for participants making reservation before 15 October 2010.

To secure the special rates, you must refer to the Room Block Name ”2010GEO”. Rooms will be allocated on a “first-come, first-served” basis according to availability. Late reservations will be subject to market prices and availability of rooms.

The CNCC formerly served as the main press centre and venue for fencing and pistol shooting competitions during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

CNCC is ideally located in the heart of the Olympic Green adjacent to the National Stadium (Bird Nest), the National Aquatics Centre (Water Cube) and the National Indoor Stadium.

From the Beijing Capital International Airport , CNCC / InterContinental Beijing Beichen / China National Convention Center Grand Hotel can be easily reached by taxi, airport express (with subway connections) and airport shuttle.

Taxi:
Please show the taxi driver the following information, fare is around 60 RMB.

Airport express:
Take the airport express and get off at Sanyuanqiao Station (25 RMB), transfer to subway No. 10, direction Bagou, get off at Beitucheng Station, transfer to subway No.8, get off at Olympic Green (2 RMB/ride).

Airport shuttle:
Take Line 5 and get off at Asian Games Village (Anhuiqiao) (16 RMB/ride), then take a taxi (around 10 RMB).
